Hiking Arte藝遊 (2009)
This is an exhibition for the inauguration of K11 Art Mall developed by New World Development Company Limited and the Urban Renewal Authority. In line with the K11’s concept ‘Art‧People‧Nature’ incorporated into its shopping culture, this exhibition showcased various artworks about the imagination of natural scenery. Through those paintings, installations and photographs, 7 local artists presented and reflected the daily experiences and mindsets of the urban dwellers, and the relations between men and nature in the city life. To imitate a concept of aesthetics in tradition Chinese painting ‘Travel through imaginary landscape’ (臥遊) which the appreciation of scenery paintings would get the joyfulness and reach the state of ‘divinity’, artworks in this exhibition were hence specially located and audience found themselves feeling the essence and freshness of mountains and waters despite being indoors
